Aspex is currently seeking several talented and career-oriented Java/Oracle Developers/DBA to support government clients in the Arlington, VA area.
Essential Job Functions:
- Software development using Java/JEE frameworks including Struts, Toplink, Spring, Hibernate, Axis, and AJAX.
- Perform complex analysis, design, development, testing and debugging of software.
- Develop unit tests to test developed code using JUnit.
- Contribute to requirements development.
- Interpret written requirements and translate them into a well documented design.
- Provide software architecture and design support, as well as prototyping.
- Conduct code reviews on other teammates' code to ensure quality.
- Recommend application design enhancements and/or corrections to enhance performance and improve maintainability.
Essential Qualifications:
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance, or had an SCI within the last two years
- Bachelors degree, preferably in Computer Science or other related discipline
- 3+ years experience developing complex web applications and web services using Java EE and Web 2.0 technologies
- Familiarity with open source Java frameworks, especially Spring, Hibernate, Struts, Axis, and JPA
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to produce software/system design documentation
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Solid understanding of common software design patterns
- Experience with relational databases (specifically Oracle 11g), including application development using SQL (Oracle DB jobs)
Additional, Nice to Have Qualifications:
- Sun Java certifications
- Experience with Eclipse, Ant, JUnit, Hudson, and Subversion
- 2+ years experience developing with Oracle PL/SQL
- Experience developing Rich Internet Application (RIAs) applications
- Experience developing RIAs using Google Web Toolkit (GWT) and Sencha GXT.
- Experience with object-oriented analysis and design methodologies
- Experience with entity extraction tools and applications.
- Experience with identity resolution tools.
- Experience with Ozone Widget Framework
- Experience with Pentaho
- Experience with Solr
- Experience with Weblogic
